Holders
Any wallet,
anywhere,
one token,
one vote
Holders are whoever holds $HIVE. No sign-up, no tiers, no council. The dot belongs to all of them at once.
A holder in Tokyo, São Paulo or Stockholm votes against the same clock: Sunday, 24:00 UTC.
The same for every holder
Same vote per token
A token in a large wallet and a token in a small one count the same: once. No boosts, no locks, no delegates.
Same deadline
The vote closes at one moment for everyone, Sunday at 24:00 UTC. Nobody votes after it.
Same information
Proposals, votes and reports are public as they happen. A holder reads exactly what every other holder reads.
Same dot
There is one dot and it does one job a week. No holder has a private line to it, whatever they hold.
Same door
Holding is not a lock. Sell, and your vote is gone at the next close. Buy, and you have one.
One clock
The vote closes on Sunday at 24:00 UTC. That is one moment, and a different hour depending on where you are:
The Americas
The close lands on Sunday afternoon or evening: 14:00 in Honolulu, 21:00 in Buenos Aires. The dot starts the new week while it is still Sunday here.
Asia-Pacific
Here the close is on Monday: 05:30 in Delhi, 07:00 in Bangkok and Jakarta, late morning in Sydney, around midday in Auckland. Vote before you sleep on Sunday.
The Middle East
The close falls in the small hours of Monday: 03:00 in Riyadh and Istanbul, 04:00 in the Emirates.
Europe
Midnight in London in winter, one or two in the morning further east and in summer. Sunday evening is the last comfortable time to move a vote.
East Asia
Monday morning: 08:00 in Beijing, 09:00 in Tokyo and Seoul. The winner is known before the working day starts.
Africa
Between 01:00 and 03:00 on Monday, from Lagos to Nairobi. A vote placed any day of the week counts the same as one placed in the last hour.
Hold $HIVE? Then the dot is yours too.
